Selah (“Selah,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Selah application and website at selah.andstud.io. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use Selah to pause, pray, reflect, and receive scripture-centered encouragement.

Information We Collect

• Account information — such as your name, email address, and, if you opt in to text reminders, your mobile phone number.
• Content you create — what you share with Selah, along with prayers, journal entries, and saved scripture.
• Billing information — processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store your full card details.
• Automatically collected information — device data, IP address, and log and usage information needed to operate, secure, and improve Selah.

How We Use Your Information

• to provide Selah, including generating scripture-centered encouragement in response to what you share;
• to manage your account, subscription, and billing;
• to send reminders and notifications you have requested, including by SMS where you opt in;
• to secure Selah, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, and improve the Service through analytics.

We Do NOT Sell Your Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information, prayers, journal entries, or other content to third parties. Period.

How We Share Your Information

We share information only in these limited circumstances:

• Service providers: We work with trusted third-party services that help us operate Selah — Supabase (secure data storage), Stripe (subscription billing), Twilio (delivery of SMS reminders you opt in to), and Bonfire (our content engine, which generates scripture-centered responses from what you share).
• Legal authorities: when required by law or valid legal process.
• Safety emergencies: to protect someone’s life or safety.

SMS/Text Messaging

If you opt in to receive text messages from Selah, we will use your phone number solely to send the message types you consented to. Mobile information, including your phone number and SMS opt-in status, will not be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, or get assistance by replying HELP. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of using Selah.

Data Retention

We retain your information while your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations. You can export or delete your content and account at any time. After an account is closed, we allow a 30-day window to export your data before it is deleted, except where we must retain it to comply with law. Deleting content also removes the associated data we sent to our content engine on your behalf.

Cookies and Tracking

Selah uses cookies and similar technologies — including a visitor cookie and authentication cookies — to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, secure the Service, and understand how Selah is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your information, or to opt out of certain communications. You can exercise these rights within the app or by contacting us, and we will respond within 30 days.

Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security on your data — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond promptly to issues.

Children’s Privacy

Selah is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Our SMS program is available only to users who are 18 years of age or older. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
