Terms of Service

Effective September 14, 2026

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Selah (the “Service”), operated at selah.andstud.io by Selah, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Description of Service

Selah is a mobile-first space to pause, pray, reflect, and receive scripture-centered encouragement. When you share what you are carrying, Selah returns scripture, prayer, and reflection generated with the help of Bonfire, our content engine. The Service also includes a scripture finder, a private prayer list, a private journal with optional AI reflection, saved scripture and history, and optional reminders.

Account Registration and Security

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it current. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@selah.andstud.io if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.

Permitted Use

Selah is for your personal use to engage with scripture, prayer, journaling, and reminders. You may use the Service only in compliance with these Terms and all applicable laws.

Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

  • reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems;
  • resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our permission;
  • upload content that is unlawful, harmful, or infringes the rights of others;
  • use the Service to send spam, harass others, or disrupt the Service.

Not Professional or Pastoral Advice

Selah is a tool designed to offer scripture-centered encouragement and support for prayer, reflection, and journaling. It does not replace professional medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or pastoral advice, and it does not create a counseling or clinical relationship. If you are in crisis or may be a danger to yourself or others, contact your local emergency services or a qualified professional immediately.

Data Ownership

You retain ownership of the content you create in Selah, including your prayers, journal entries, and saved scripture. We claim no ownership of your content and do not sell it. You grant us only the limited permission needed to operate the Service for you — such as securely storing your content and sending it to our content engine to generate a response.

Intellectual Property

Selah, including its software, design, and brand (excluding your content and any public-domain or licensed scripture), is owned by Selah and protected by applicable laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service except as expressly permitted.

Payment and Subscription

Selah offers a limited free preview and a paid subscription. Paid access begins with a seven-day free trial that requires a valid payment method. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription renews automatically at the then-current price and billing interval. Billing is processed by Stripe, and your subscription status is recognized from Stripe. You may manage or cancel your subscription at any time from your account; cancellation stops future charges but does not retroactively refund the current period except where required by law.

SMS/Text Messaging Terms

If you opt in through a form on selah.andstud.io, Selah may send you text messages. Depending on the consents you select, these may include informational messages (such as prayer and scripture reminders, journaling nudges, support follow-ups, and service notifications) and promotional messages (such as new features, offers, and announcements). Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Check with your carrier for details. To stop receiving messages, reply STOP to any text message. After you opt out, you will receive one final message confirming your opt-out. For assistance, reply HELP to any message or email support@selah.andstud.io. You must be 18 years of age or older to use this SMS service. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Selah is not responsible for delays or failures in message delivery caused by your carrier or device. For information on how we handle your phone number and SMS opt-in data, see our Privacy Policy.

Termination

You may stop using Selah and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to others or to the Service. Certain provisions — including Data Ownership, the disclaimers, and Limitation of Liability — survive termination.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. Our total liability for any claim related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to Selah in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Selah and its team from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
